Community Alert – Vehicle Crime Awareness

Dear residents,

On the 11th of February 2026, officers were called to a car‑jacking in the car park of Waitrose, Green Lane, Northwood. The victim had been sitting in their vehicle when a suspect entered the car, forced them out, and drove away in the victim’s vehicle.

There have also been reports of similar incidents occurring in neighbouring areas.

This is a reminder to please remain vigilant when arriving at or leaving your vehicle. We would encourage residents to:

Keep doors locked while seated inside your vehicle.

Stay aware of your surroundings, especially in car parks or isolated areas.

Avoid leaving vehicles unattended with engines running.

Report any suspicious behaviour immediately by calling 999 if a crime is in progress, or 101 for non‑emergencies.

Your local Safer Neighbourhood Team is conducting active enquiries into this incident and will continue to patrol the area.
